Verena
Manager - Curriculum Lead & First Aider
I first worked at Little Treasures in 2003 part-time while I completed my teacher training degree. Following two years working as a primary school teacher I returned in 2007 as a Preschool room teacher. With hard work and commitment, I worked my way up to my current role in 2015 becoming the nursery manager.
I have two children of my own so understand the needs of children, parents and staff alike. I have a passion for education and strive to ensure children and staff have access to outstanding learning opportunities allowing them to achieve and develop in all areas. I am hands-on as manager, I operate an open-door policy and take pride in getting to know all the children in our care and expect only the highest standards from my staff team.
I am adult, paediatric and emergency drug first aid trained, therefore qualified to administer Inhalers, EpiPen’s etc. and I'm trained in Enteral Feeding.

Comments: I was previously a senior manager in another setting for five years before I left to have my first baby. Upon returning to work I started at Little Treasures with the under 2-year-olds, caring for the Toddlers and watching them grow as one of the key-team. Since then I have had another baby, so when my firstborn started school I made the move to Preschool where I looked forward to the new challenge as part of the key-team, to help prepare your little ones for their journey to school, while my youngest was in the baby room, however I have now made the move back to the Toddler Unit as my child has grown and progressed through the setting, where I now care for the youngest children in our setting.
