Our Staff

Management Team

Verena
Manager - Curriculum Lead & First Aider

I first worked at Little Treasures in 2003 part-time while I completed my teacher training degree. Following two years working as a primary school teacher I returned in 2007 as a Preschool room teacher. With hard work and commitment, I worked my way up to my current role in 2015 becoming the nursery manager.

I have two children of my own so understand the needs of children, parents and staff alike. I have a passion for education and strive to ensure children and staff have access to outstanding learning opportunities allowing them to achieve and develop in all areas. I am hands-on as manager, I operate an open-door policy and take pride in getting to know all the children in our care and expect only the highest standards from my staff team.

I am adult, paediatric and emergency drug first aid trained, therefore qualified to administer Inhalers, Epipen’s etc.

Jannette
Deputy Manager - Deputy DSL, Behaviour Management & First Aider.

I have worked at Little Treasures since 2010, I started in the First Steps room and moved to Striders before working a short time in Preschool, I was promoted to Striders Supervisor and then in 2015 promoted to Deputy Manager. I have an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and also hold an assessor certificate in Early Years. I am  adult, paediatric and emergency drug first aid trained and assist Jemma our DSL with safeguarding and child protection.

I have worked in nurseries for nearly 30years so have some insight on how children learn, behave and develop. My main job as Deputy Manager is to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and to make sure children, parents and staff are all happy and healthy.

I am married with a grown-up daughter so I do understand the pressures of being a parent. I still work in all the rooms if needed, but help Verena more now in the office where the door is always open for anyone to come and have a chat.

David
Deputy Manager - SENDCO and Equal Opportunities Officer

I have worked at Little Treasures since December 2019, I was previously a supervisor in a Children's Centre nursery caring for children 0-3years and a lead playworker for Sandwell councils play service. I have a Foundation Degree level 5 in Early Years and a level 3 Forest school leader certification.

As deputy manager, I enjoy supporting children and staff to be happy and achieve the best that they can achieve, no doubt you will see me around as I'm actively going to be supporting the room supervisors working within the base rooms here and there as needed.
